Yiddish Club - Kumt ayner, kumt aleh (come one, come all)

  • Kol Shalom, Community for Humanistic Judaism 1509 S.W. Sunset Blvd., Ste. 1E Portland, OR 97239 U.S.A. (map)

Join us for the first renewed Kol Shalom Yiddish Club meeting Zoom version. This will be our chance to explore Yiddish in a different way. First we'll hear and see two songs performed on YouTube, Tayere Malke,  about a Passover goblet of wine and the feelings it arouses, and Shnirele Perele, about three of the ways the Messiah might arrive. Then we'll read the songs and talk about their words and the songs' cultural context, following which we'll hear them once again, performed by a different band/artist with a different flavor.
Join in and bring your friends. Lomir gut farbrengen (let's have a good time together).
