Purim Shabbat - KS Center

PURIM SHABBAT!

Before there was Easter there was Passover, and before their was Mardi Gras there was Purim.  One difference between the Christian and the Jewish versions, in the period between the two holidays the Jews supposedly “count the omer,” while the Christians may fast, giving up something they like for forty days. We  like the Jewish version better!

So let's celebrate Purim with a rollicking Purim Shabbat!  We’ll hear a very funny takeoff on the Megillah.  We’ll have grogers (noise-makers) to drown out the sound of Haman’s name every time it’s read. We’ll sing a couple of Purim songs.   And of course we’ll have yummy hamentaschen and a bit of wine.  You can come in costume if the spirit moves you !
