DeBi Strode-Song of Miriam Honoree 2018
DeBi Strode, office administrator, daughter of Irv and Muriel Adler (one Kol Shalom’s founding couples) and extraordinary volunteer is this year’s nominee to receive The Song of Miriam award. DeBi gives so much to our community. She helps organize The High Holidays especially the oneg. When you come to the Seder, you see her touch when you find your table by looking for the numbered chocolate matzo. The success of our community Seder depends so much on DeBi’s work with folks at Tony Starlight and with our members and guests.
DeBi has been a member since 1995. She was the newsletter editor for 5 years and was on the board during that time.
Debi still proofs the newsletter, makes fanciful and informative flyers, and has implemented Chai Day. She is a giver demonstrated by her work on the Music Maker fundraiser and helping with adopting a family during Hanukah.
DeBi’s hummingbird energy motivates us and her kindness humbles us. Debi will be honored on June 3 between 10-12:15 at brunch sponsored by Jewish Women’s Roundtable at the Mittleman Jewish Community Center.
